General Podiatry
Podiatry encompasses a range of foot health conditions and can relate to lower leg, knee, hip and back problems. Long and thick nails, callus, corns and pressure areas are very common reasons for consulting our podiatrists.
These general foot health issues can be managed by our podiatrists on a regular basis and include nail cutting, filing and hard/dry skin and corn removal. This maintenance is vital to prevent the breakdown of skin and nail which can lead to ulceration and wounds forming. Soft padding and offloading can also facilitate your everyday comfort and prevent reoccurrence of these problems.
If you are having trouble reaching your feet or you wish to have your feet looked at by a professional then regular nail and callus care may be appropriate and indicated for you. It is recommended that diabetic patients see a podiatrist on a regular basis and do not cut their nails themselves as they risk more serious injury to the foot. Advice and education on foot health, includes: nail cutting techniques, skin care options and specific moisturisers to use on the feet and appropriate footwear for your foot type and activities.
Our aim is to keep you walking for longer with pain free feet and legs, so general foot care is a priority at Feet 4 Life. Please call to make an appointment on 9596 8418 or click here to see our new patient offer.
